If Hammer indeed captures the
title, she will become the third
current World Boxing Federation
female world champion for
manager Ulf Steinforth, who
already has WBF
world heavyweight champion
Natascha Ragosina and WBF world
super featherweight champion
Ramona Kuehne on his roster.
Also on the same show in
Ljubljana, hometown hero Denis
Simcic, 25-1 (14), will make the
second defense of his WBF
International light heavyweight
title against teak-tough
Georgian Sandro Siproshvili,
24-7 (11). The 29-year-old
Simcic won the belt last
September against Istvan Varga
(KO 9) at the same venue and
defended once in November
against Jindrich Velecky (W 10)
in Germany. However, these two
are certainly a league below
Siproshvili.
"Denis now must beat such
dangerous opponents, otherwise
he will not get the opportunity
to challenge for the WBF world
title," says Simcic' trainer
Dirk Dzemski. |
