The World Boxing Federation is still reeling from the shock of the tragic passing of Mlungisi 'The Shark' Dlamini, lightweight champion of the world.

We will always remember the talents of the man and the joy and excitement he provided to his thousands of fans over his career.

I was fortunate to have supervised his fights against Gary St Clair and Francisco Lorenzo where he arguably put up two of his finest performances.

He would always come to me after each fight and ask me how I thought he fought and where he could do better - such was the humility of 'The Shark'.  I for one will miss him immensely and on behalf of the World Boxing Federation, we once again express our condolences to his family.

Exciting news is that Africa is buzzing with proposed activity.  An All Africa fight in South Africa in February, an All Africa fight in Botswana in March, William Gare defending his World super middleweight title in April and three proposed fights in both South Africa and Ghana in May.

Europe too is getting busy with proposed fights in Germany, Albania and Slovakia with several more in the pipeline.

There has been much written about the proposed defence of our heavyweight king Francois 'The White Buffalo' Botha.  Botha, under contract to SES Productions, is on the verge of signing a contract to fight either late April or early May.

Once this contract is officially signed, sealed and delivered, his promoter will release a statement as to who the opponent is, the venue and the date.

We are busy finalising the last few areas of our convention and all information related thereto should be on our website within the next week or two.

Keep punching!
